Difference between the Tarpon Rodeo and the Faux Pas?

Going to the Faux Pas for the first time this yr and saw where the Tarpon Rodeo is the same weekend. What are the differences between the two, if any? Are they purposely scheduled for the same weekend? I thought it was odd that they would both hold their events on the same weekend as each other

Cleo and gang of Faux Pas used to be part of the GITR. There was a weigh station in Venice. One year when Venice called in weights, the people in GI didn't take the reading. shite hit the fan. So, the Venice group said screw GITR. There was some bad blood that past.
BTW, Cleo and gang are fine people and very good at fishing.
I used to fish both. GITR is really not what I goes down there to fish.
FP, money is on the table for fishing and they throw down some good food and a lot of drinking at night.

Tarpon Rodeo is out of control, was fun in my younger days but just afraid what I may contract there at this point. Faux Pas is more about fishing hard and drinking with the guys.
My only complaint about Faux Pas is that Venice Marina is a dump. By the Blue's run it top-notch.
