Late last night my 2014 super duty threw the P1267 CEL. It has to do with the electrical system for the injectors. Since i am living out of a hotel i have zero tools or a place to pop the hood to check the ohms on the harness.

I think it might be something as easy as cleaning and tightening the solenoid. When i tried going to the dealership off airline she chuckled about not having a diesel tech.

I was hoping to go down to Coy's in Gonzalez, it's their dyno day. But it seems as though Diesel Techs dont work saturdays.

any suggestions?

You'll have a very hard time getting this fixed in one Saturday unless you do it yourself and get lucky.

You'll have to ohm out the harness and the injector solenoid. At least unplug that injector and make sure the connection hasn't gone to shite for some reason. Clean it and plug it back it. Sometimes it that easy.

If you're going to a diesel shop, tricare is where I'd go. I don't think they are open on the weekend though

Seeing where it's a weekend, you could maybe try a truck stop with a shop. Those places will sometimes have a diesel tech on duty on weekends. I know they specialize in the big semi diesel's, but might be able to help.

Shouldn't any mechanic with a multimeter be able to run down that troubleshooting? Am I missing something?

Sounds like a HPFP failure? I haven't looked much into the issue but I know it's expensive as shite to fix, basically all new from the pump to the injectors. Supposedly caused by moisture making it past the fuel filters. How often did you change fuel filters?

Tuned/Deleted? How many miles?

My 2012 threw a CEL the other day and it felt real similar to when I had a CEL for a sensor on the exhaust, forget what the exact code is. Before I could get somewhere to have the code read it cleared up and truck went back to full power. Crap like this makes me nervous owning a modern diesel. I'm pretty anal about maintenance though, oil and oil filter every 5000 miles, air filter and new fuel filters every 10000 miles.

Tbh, $8k is a lot to replace the fuel system. I thought it was more like $6k

Eta: After looking around, that's just for the pump, so $8k seems good for the entire system. Ford injectors at cost for my 6.4 were something like $175, and they sold them for $350. My truck was a giant POS, but I thank God my little sister was friends with the sales manager's daughter at Ford. Saved me multiple thousands.

People are getting this to prevent water getting in the pump, causing rust, causing pitting/erosion. Evidently the OEM water separator doesn't do anything.

IIRC, the HPFP gets to like 50,000 psi. That's a lot

if you're getting egt CEL's be real careful you dont want a melt down.

mine has a DPF delete and the CEL was only on twice the past few trips. The tech said i was lucky to not put a hole in the piston.

Ford is well aware of the issue and fixed it in 2015. Mine is 2014 with 105K miles on it. no tune

I forget the exact code but it had something to do with a sensor on the DPF system I believe, so it's not an EGT issue. Ford is aware of the problem and actually extended the service bulletin on them.

DPF delete with no tune? You sure? I know they make DPF-on tuners but you must run a tuner to delete the DPF.

Call up Terry at 225-667-4111. Cordell that works for him is a top notch diesel mechanic. He's the one who repairs all of Boardwalks diesel trucks on their lot. You'll save a shut tin of money and get good work. They're in Walker.
