So a bunch of us are going out of Sweetwater Friday and Bayou Charters Saturday. Any recent reports? Isaw a report or 2 on great redfishing, but it seems the trout are down. Any one???
Forecasts show great weather, but I wonder about what all the fresh rain water may do. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance.

Trout outside especially along the MRGO rocks. Reds everywhere inside.

I doubt Payne or Thomason's crews will go to the rocks. Bayou Charters is more into reds anyway. I'd love to catch limits of both, but I'm good anyway.

Don't doubt they will fish it. Easy limits is a guides dream

Last I read the trout were stacking up INSIDE in the Delacroix area due to the high Mississippi water making the outer bay's water too fresh and the bait is staying inside, which keeps the trout in also.
By inside, I'm talking about Four Horse Lake, Double Pipeline, Pencil Canal(North/South Pipeline, Point Fienne area, Oak River area near Pencil Canal. The closest "bays" that I heard were holding trout were Lake Campo, Oak River Bay and Bay La Fourche.
This was almost 2 weeks ago that I heard this, but the river is still high and with all the rain we've had lately, I don't see that it should have changed much.

They are in the outer edges. The big females need to spawn out. Only trout on inside are mostly small. Black bay, bay Eloi, American bay, MRGO, etc water is salty with this east wind

My info was almost 2 weeks old... So it may have changed.

Fishing on your on from Sweetwater or with a guide? Charlie will find fish, no matter what. He's probably one of the most professional and knowledgable redfish guys on the planet.

I caught a few at the mrgo rocks a couple weeks ago but they weren't stacked up, by any means.
