Deer hunting is damn confusing. I downloaded an app that 160+ people swear by using the moon.

But then I read this which says it has much more to do with cold temps

To further confuse things, the biggest deer I have seen all season was 4:30 pm in early October and it was right at about 90°.

yep

all things considered and nothing out of the ordinary and deer will be on their feet off and on during the day when it is cool, light winds and the moon is visible in the sky. that is like 5 days a hunting season. lol

when the rut is in swing throw all that out the window. nothing stops the does from coming into heat and nothing stops a buck from pursuing that doe.

if you hunt in this neck of the woods a few does will be coming into heat this week because it doesn't look like they did last week. The majority will come into heat 4 weeks later. this weekend and the days after Christmas......

Chasing is over in Oklahoma.

We're not seeing any does, and no big bucks.

You do the math.

These damn fronts have them screwed up. in Uriah Alabama by Atmore. We had seen tons of deer every trip until Sat, nada, Sunday nada, (Both great solar days) Monday nada, and Tuesday afternoon nothing, Today nothing until on the way out saw about a dozen deer in the fields next to us eating peanuts.

Going to try Friday before it gets hot. Watch out the fricking wasp are back too.

But a bright moon phase and warm weather meant hunters wouldn’t see many deer. We learned there were many factors causing deer to move, but temperature the overriding factor. The temperature - not the moon phase – was and is most responsible factor determining when deer moved.

This was damn sure true this weekend. All I can tell is deer like cold fronts and hate warm ones (I think.)

Some apps show different fish days on the same day. Which app do you guys think is most reliable?

best app Ive ever come across, and it's free, if ya wanna download it is:
go hunting or fishing every chance you get, you never know when a trip or experience may be your last.
you can't kill or catch em as good at home, as you can up in that tree or in your boat.
this is hard pecker season, or close to it for most of us, he's gonna succumb to it and screw up, I want to have my 20 yard pin on that sweet spot behind his foreleg when it happens, but, I have to be there...
it's a free app, but cash donations are accepted and appreciated.

The only 3 the boys and I saw this morning came out around 9:00, AFTER the wind really picked up. Go figure. I saw 2 really nice 8's, but they looked to be about 2 1/2, so I let them walk for future harvest. There's a giant potbellied cow horn on camera that looks like an Angus cow, hoping to harvest him before his seed is spread any further.
