Looking for a deer lease within an hour or so of Livingston Parish. Willing to pay, work, and whatever else is expected at a lease.

I doubt I can find anything for this year, would be shocked if I could, but interested in future years.

Advocate classifieds in the sportsman's exchange section. They have been running one for that area.

Wish I could help. I'll
Be doing the same next year. I've got a place between Oakdale and Oberlin but it's hard hunting. It'll only be a few yrs before my boy can climb in and I need a place with a lot of deer. Ofcourse that means a lot of $ I just want a place that deer are seen consistently

Keep in mind anything that is open this time of year is likely open for a reason.

If you haven't ever hunted the Florida parish area of the state know what you are getting. Convenient deer hunting that you will see a deer every few hunts certainly not ever hunt. You will kill a buck here and there and a nice one every 10 years or so. From my experience that is what you expect in the area however I do it with a young family as it provides convenience.

Learn the public land in the area for the time being, and look into some leases in MS. The license fees are a pain, but often times the lease opportunities are better and cheaper and it's not very far from Livingston Parish (depending on where exactly you're at in LP)

I heard recently that there was a lease north or DS/Walker area that was looking for members. Not sure if it was this season, but definitely next season. I'm not sure what the name of it is though

so true. I've been hunting north of Holden for the last 5 years. Haven't seen a decent buck yet, other than on the camera. Was coming home the other night from dinner and had 2 large bucks standing in the small field across from my house about 20 yards from my driveway. I was excited to see that quality of deer right there by my house in Albany, but pissed at the same time b/c I haven't seen anything like that at the lease
