My stepson gave it to me for Christmas. He died on Jan. 4th 2008, so it has some sentimental value to me. I'm glad you like it!

This is last resort. I think I can wing it. I've been submerging myself in deer hunting and will be doing so for the next month.

If I feel like it can't be done ill come clean. but, im no quitter!!

i feel like in this situation its better to be a quitter than a liar

especially since the only thing you'd be quitting is lying

Ok my 2 cents..

Come forward and tell the truth. If you dont hunt and you have been lying anyway, he already knows.

If you want to carry out the lie, just dont shoot anything. Tell him you didnt see anything, or you did and you had a misfire.

If you decide to shoot something, DO NOT TRACK it by yourself. Wait for help. Losing an injured animal is unacceptable.

Dude, I was just messing with you. Sorry about your step-son.

If you want to make more of it than it is, that's on you.

It's all good. Lot's of people give me shite about it. Their reaction to me telling them why it's special to me is usually pretty interesting. No harm, no foul.

Ok, I talked to the guy today. He wants me to come with him either Sat, Sun or Mon evening. I told him I'd talk to my wife to see which is best for her. I think I'm ready. I've been reading a lot and watching a lot of videos. I'll keep yall updates.

I wish you the best of luck. Unfortunately, the above stated is nothing like the actual thing. Good luck.

I have to agree with you. If he is then I'd sure hope he's not going to be in the woods near me.

You should get dressed up in your camo & get your wife to take a picture of you with your gun. Then post it here so we can tell you what to change. Make damn sure you wash that new camo several times so that it looks a bit faded. Brand new camo is a dead give away that you are green. You might also want to get some Tinks trophy buck lure & rub it all over your cloths too. When you start walking to the stand, squirt whatever is left in the bottle on your boots so that you carry the scent with you to the stand.

Other people have said it, but I'll say it again...

There is NO frickING WAY you can pull this off.

If the guy bringing you has ever hunted deer, you're fricked. I've been hunting deer since I was 11 and within 30 seconds of talking with a "hunter" I can tell if they actually hunt, and within a minute I know if they are successful at hunting or just go with their uncle every once in a while.

Check. I got an orange vest and left it outside for a few weeks in the dirt. It has some dirt stains and looks like a season vet now.

I really think I can. It's not like I'm trying to fake it as a rocket scientist. Ask me some general hunting talk questions. I bet i can pass.
