I went ahead and ordered one of these off ebay and all I can say is WOW! The thing is like a damn q-beam. I now know what I am buying every male member of the family for X-mas. Thanks for sharing the info on this!

I've only had one failure with the cree lights I've bought.
Maglight copy 2 D cells. Got dropped on a concrete floor and something on the board broke. Never worked again. So take that into account. Don't bash em on stuff like you would with regular LEDs. They can't take it. But I've dropped others and they held up.

I have this one. It's amazing. I was worried I overspent on the thing until we were looking for a bloodtrail one night in S. Texas. Little bitty flashlight putting out like an enormous spotlight.

Received my Cree 500 lm yesterday. I'm a sucker for a flashlight. I've gone through a bunch of them, and currently have a streamlight scorpion (that eats batteries) and a streamlight with the long handle that charges in my truck. This Cree out does them both. It's like a fricking light saber. For $20 from Hong Kong to my door, I don't think it can be beat. I wish I had bought some more.

Couldn't agree more. I bought my first one and it didn't take but a couple weeks till I'd bought a half dozen more of them and gave some to my buddies to spread the joy that is Cree magnificence.

ok im a sucker for gadgets so i broke down and ordered the cree last night. it said arrival between july 26 and aug. 8. hope it doesnt take that long. and fwiw i have a surefire that i love, but it eats batteries.
