I have a slough on my land that I have to run trespassers off of constantly. I think most of the good bucks in Bossier Parish have went nocturnal, so might as well give it a try.
My ?'s:
In a slough I assume most ducks I see will be already headed in so should I leave the call in my pocket?
I have amassed a collection of decoys that trespassers have dropped while they flee. (Mallards and Teal) Anything different about setting up in a slough?

Don't put out too many decoys. They will land into the wind so set up where they have room to come in. May wanna call just to get their attention, then shut up. Motion will help. Jerk string would be fine.

This late in the season i wouldnt call alot just simple quacks and if you have a whistle i would use that as far as decoys i would put out a couple dozen

Movement in the decoys is critical at this point in the season. today i put out a couple goose flyer decoys and the ducks and geese were both decoying in this morning.

Don't think this will help the feller in a ditch in the woods

I'd be curious how you do... Very few big ducks in our part last year but I'm not around to hunt this year. I did well on base last year killing woodies and teal with no decoys
