Has anyone ever fished the canals that lead to Dauphin Island? The canals lead to the bay but I've never seen anyone fish there. Looks like a great place to crab and fish, so what's the issue?

What canals are you talking about? The few on the western bay side?

Im sure those canals hold some redfish, but there is so much stuff in the water from hurricanes that it is not worth venturing into.

They empty into Heron Bay, which is a great place to catch trout and redfish.

You're probably right. I have seen a few sunken boats. I thought I would ask because it looks like great fishing, but that explains it! Thanks!

Yeah. My friend guides around there and he says no one but the bums fish there.
