Baw. I was out back pissing on the big tree when I heard it. Sounded like a woman screaming. Then I heard a train comin and the tornado picked me up and threw me in the lake by the dam. I seen a catfish as big as a VW beetle down there. Then the black panther stole mah trump sign.

I have never seen any large cat in Louisiana.

I have heard a sound I couldn't place.

Take it for what it's worth.

FYI there is no large BLACK cat species on the North American continent. Also mountain lions (cougars) that are known to have large ranges and sometimes pass thru parts of Louisiana from time to time, DO NOT scream like a woman and actually rarely vocalize above a clicking purr at all. Mating calls or even somewhat low key growls. Just FYI

Yea... except for the jaguar, which do have a sub-species/genetic abnormailty that results in a melanistic jaguar. The current jaguar range is into Mexico and there are ongoing attempts to bring the big cat back into the former range in New Mexico and Arizona. The previous range also extended into Texas and possibly as far north as Colorado.

Yep, I've seen a couple of black Jaguars in Central America. Super elusive and I used to see fresh tracks daily for years. Tried to catch them on game cameras, but this was when game cameras weren't that great. According to the forest rangers that patrol my property they have never seen one, only tracks and the hair we have all collected using double stick tape and catnip to access the size of thier DNA gene pool. Both of the ones I saw hauled arse instantly.
