Short version. Guy said he shot his buddy's dog because it had Cancer. People were calling it trashy and inhumane. I have had to do it before and I have a friend that has done it for me.

I know it isnt the norm but I didnt think it was unheard of. Thoughts?

Why does the OB suddenly choose today to start caring what everyone else thinks?

It's moreso that he brought it to a message board to measure his dick size

Eta and of course it's not inhumane

But I'm very pro assisted suicide which is what occurred

I assume you are talking about the guy posting on the OT. I was just curious as to what the general consensus was.

How do you know this? He could just be venting and wanted others to clarify what he did was a good thing.

I think it's very humane and much better than your pet having to leave home to die. Also, needles hurt. A bullet to the head is instant, and painless. Why would you want to pay a vet for something a friend or yourself could do for the fraction of the cost?

Nothing wrong with that as long as you made a good shot. Certainly not unheard of in these parts, pretty common really. I'm sure that you got a ton of shite in the OT but you should have thought twice about asking a bunch of emotional bitches. Not all are but most lol

Cootkilla is the man for dog shooting if you don't have any friends that will do it.

Not one of those "come to an internet forum and tell the world about it" kind of event - very sad day and very difficult to do for a close friend...

I didn't read the OT thread but there's absolutely nothing wrong with putting an animal down under the right circumstances. In general though, the OT is a bunch of inexperienced uninformed left leaning liberal pussies when it comes to "animal rights".

I would put my dog out of its misery if I had to.

I have the same sentiment as well. i was having a hard time understanding why these people were fricking slamming this guy for helping out a friend.

Bunch of liberal pussies over there any way. What reaction did you expect?

I didn't even read your reply until I posted mine. I take what they say with a grain of salt. They think way to highly of themselves.

To each his own. I personally couldn't do it, I'd have a hard time putting a bullet in one of my dogs. I've seen the vet give them a shot (at my home) and they expire within 30 seconds. That's what I'll stick to doing if it comes to that. I don't consider the cost.

The reality of your comments is you have no issue with the outcome, or the directive for death. You just dont have the capacity for what you percieve as violence. That's fine. Sometimes that is just a lack of experience with firearms or death. But it is infuriating that people want to equate caring out the action yourself with psychopathy.

I shot a big black sherperd type dog that looked like it had been run over intentionally. It was 1976 and I still think about it when near the area or when you azzhats bring this up.

Right, I don't have a problem with putting down a suffering dog, but I couldn't shoot one of my own. I love my dogs and couldn't do it. I wouldn't want that image in my mind of shooting them and that be my last memory of them. It was pretty damn peaceful to put down the last one with an injection.

And BTW, I've got lots of experience with firearms and killing large animals.

Well, it's the OT. Those folks will bitch about anything.

Most of us have had to do something similar but going to the OT and starting a thread about it is a little weird. You know what kind of reaction you'll get.
