Where can I buy 4x6 creosote posts for a fence and some 1x6's for the rails?

Ride along a traintrack. Eventually you will see a pile of brand new ones.

Buy the timbers you want at the Home Depot. Paint them with a mix of 50/50 used motor oil and diesel fuel. They'll last longer than you will.

If you find the creosote just make sure when you cut it to protect your skin. That shi will burn you skin like a sumbitch.

Fence got a mix of 2gal burnt oil to 5gal diesel with a quarter of red and a quart of brown paint. Looks great, and cheaper than stain.

I might have to try this...you just mixed it all in a big bucket?
Pine fence?

I think I read some where that it will also give you serious respiratory problems very quickly if you don't use a respirator.

Yes. Mixed it then put it on with a cheap pump sprayer. It was a pine fence.

Ah yes...fond memories. 500 feet of 5 strand barbed wire....creosote fence posts set every 6 feet (Dad's rules, not mine). Put them in with a post driver....great exercise for the shoulders...yeah right...wore smooth out afterwards.
When we sharpened those posts with a chainsaw....that creosote got everywhere...including eyes...even with safety glasses...skin burned, eyes burned....and it was July in SWLA to boot....But it was with my ole man...so it was a bitch then...but I look back on it fondly...and if he was here still...I'd do it again.

I'll be the first to admit I don't know a thing about mixing those, but that just seems like you are pushing your luck with that many chemicals mixing together?

nah that's SOP
we use burnt motor oil and diesel for everything at my place in texas...spray it on anything that can rust, rot, or corrode.

Diesel and oil no doubt no issues, I was just saying adding anything beyond that just need to be careful. Water based paint I doubt would ever be an issue, I don't have any clue about exterior paints though. I'm not saying it's bad idea, just gotta be careful.

That brings back memories. Building a 4/5 creosote plank fence with creosote 6x6's set at 8 feet-all set 3-4 feet deep with old school post-hole diggers. I built about 600 feet of that once at 14 years old. The only protective item I had were a pair of leather gloves.
I was proud as heck when people would pull off of the road to take pictures of it in front of our big white barn. The local rodeo did a photo shoot of it. It lasted over 20 years until my sister moved into the house we grew up in and tore it down. With some upkeep, it would have lasted another 20, at least.

Or using it, but they used what sure looks/smells like it on all the bayou locks south of Houma.

Ours is still up...probably 20 years or better. Strands aren't as tight..but not loose. Our is likely 3 feet in the ground too...everything my dad put in the ground was at least 3 ft. Even water lines in SWLA. I hated his rules sometimes...
Only thing gonna take that fence down is fricking Driftwood LNG when they take our home to build that damn plant. We're in the buffer zone.

I've had to saw through some RR ties and drill holes making a bridge. Wore through 3 chains in maybe 20 minutes and 18v drill batteries lasted like 3.
The oil sheen on the water and burning on my skin and face was the icing on the cake

Word, I got creosote burns once. Chipping hardened creososte off a slab in an industrial building. It had leaches out of piles.....
I was young and stupid and didn't realize what it was at the time.
