I've seen a large cat twice when walking to my stand or while hunting. Scary stuff.

Last time, I got my gun up after I realized what it was, but it was too late. Apparently I got off lucky because it's illegal to shoot them.

If you saw that monster, what would you do?
Is there any way to legally remove it from our lease?

Haha. Yeah. I'm at the ready if it attacks. But it usually bolts in the opposite direction as soon as it sees me. I wouldn't care about the regulations if I felt the need to protect myself.

Odds are if the thing wanted to attack you would never know what hit you. Thats scary!

As do I. I have seen two. LDWF say they don't exist but I know they do. Insofar as killing one...I wouldn't do it. I've seen some huge Bobcats in several North La parishes with rifle in hand but have no desire to kill one.

Biggest bobcat I ever saw was close to Cypress / Black bayou in Bossier Parish walking across the road. I've killed bobcats before and seen tons of them. I've seen a few really big ones. But this thing was on a whole other level and I got to see him up close because he ran up a tree just feet from the road. Absolutely gigantic cat. I've got a 50 lb dog and this cat was way bigger than that. I can definitely see a cat like that eating whatever size deer it wants.

There's also a cougar in this same area. I haven't seen it but I know a couple that had it in their back yard just up airline drive.

yea ask the LDWF guy who shot the one in bossier parrish last year. we normally keep our bobcats in check. we only shot one last year but the year before we put down 4 and two were huge.

OK Grasshopper. On Christmas morning of my eighth birthday my Grandfather handed me a brand new Herrington & Richardson single barrel .410 shotgun.

He looked @ me square in the eye and said " Don't let me catch you killing something you won't clean and eat".

I don't eat Bobcats.

It's legal to shoot Bobcats. And I get them stuffed to donate to HS teams. This thing was definitely a cougar.

I hunt N. & S. LA. But I've seen one in both places. It'd be awesome to get an imaginary cougar stuffed!

Also illegal to shoot a person, except in self defense.

For years the big cats/cougar whatever "did not exist" per LDWF. Well that all changed a couple year's back when multiple sighting were recorded on trail cams then a couple were spotted in neighborhoods in N. La. If I recall correctly, a local police officer had to shoot one and LDWF came out to verify what it was.
