While speaking to Bordelon, agents observed the lid to the ice chest in the back of the truck partially open with a freshely harvested spotted fawn inside.

What a dummy. Everyone knows you have to pluck those spots off before you move it.

I haven't done the math, but the late rut areas involve some REALLY late second ruts. Could a doe come into heat a third time if not bred?

Yes

I saw a doe with a spotted fawn in Avoyelles right before Christmas.

The rut isn't every doe coming in heat at a given time, just a majority usually in a given area. I been fishing ole Toledo in March and see them suckers chasing along the bank. Buddy had a nice 8 chasing a doe thru his camp plum up in April one year around Starks Louisiana....if they aint bred up early they gonna come back in season like an ole house cat....they want the D !

Damn, I guess around here they don't make it long enough to breed that late in the season
