This one was hit the week before Christmas on 30.

Its amazing how strong the genes are in that area. If people wouldn't blast everything they see and they didn't have 1 hunter for every 2 acres, we'd kill a lot more bigass deer around here. I know the 100% stress free life these deer live help too, but these deer have no protein feed, not mineral/supplements, food plots, corn feeders where they are either.

Yeah it's pretty crazy. Any idea of the acreage they're living on over there?

I'll go check the assessors website and see how much they have.

They tried to round some of them up with a man drive back in the 60s-70s with WLF and a bunch of employees got hurt. They didn't want to get corralled into the trailers and started jumping over and running through the people driving them in.

Looks like somewhere around 900 acres, but most of it is units and a large pasture. Doesn't look like more than 150-200 acres of woods.

I don't get it. Occidental has over 1200 acres and much more wooded area. They let employees hunt on a limited basis, but never hear or see of anything close to those being killed.

No i haven't. Just haven't made the contacts yet. But the Sacramento flyway is big. My friends that duck hunt do very well. I've focused on fishing, pigs and upland birds since moving to the land of fruits and nuts. I can tell you this...despite my original thoughts....this IS an outdoors state. Just pay your taxes and submit to The Government.
