Many more places than that. Churches, polling places, parades, cocourthouses, etc.

Yes they are. I assumed he was referring to only places with posted "No Firearms" signs.

I've never seen a "No Firearms" sign at my church.

Not all churches are firearm free zones either.

Straight from LSP.org:

Prohibited Locations

R.S. 40:1379.3 (N) states that no concealed handgun may be carried into and no concealed handgun permit issued pursuant to this Section shall authorize or entitle a permittee to carry a concealed handgun in any of the following:

-A law enforcement office, station, or building;
-A detention facility, prison, or jail;
-A courthouse or courtroom, provided that a judge may carry such a weapon in his own courtroom;
-A polling place;
-A meeting place of the governing authority of a political subdivision;
-The state capitol building;
-Any portion of an airport facility where the carrying of firearms is prohibited under federal law, except that no person shall be prohibited from carrying any legal firearm into the terminal, if the firearm is encased for shipment, for the purpose of checking such firearm as lawful baggage;
-Any church, synagogue, mosque or similar place of worship; See RS 40:1379.3 (U)
-A parade or demonstration for which a permit is issued by a governmental entity;
-Any portion of the permitted area of an establishment that has been granted a Class A-General retail permit, as defined in Part II of Chapter 1 or Part II of Chapter 2 of Title 26 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises.
-Any school "firearm free zone" as defined in R.S. 14:95.6.

The provisions of R.S. 40:1379.3 (N) shall not limit the right of a property owner, lessee, or other lawful custodian to prohibit or restrict access of those persons possessing a concealed handgun pursuant to a permit issued under this Section. No individual to whom a concealed handgun permit is issued may carry such concealed handgun into the private residence of another without first receiving the consent of that person.

Also, you can't cc anywhere if you are under the influence of drugs or alcohol(.08 I believe).

Actually 0.05 BAC. Even lower than driving. Basically, don't drink at all when carrying.

It's actually 0.05 when carrying or if a firearm is in your car at the time.

But the officer can still deem you are "under the influence" even if you blow below 0.05. Kinda sucks but that's how the law is written right now.

The way it reads, you can CC when you are a spectator at a parade, just not if you are IN the parade. Is this correct?

Wish we had the "enhanced" carry here. But I see more really good change in the next 5-10 years. There is a resurgence for gun rights in this country.

It's a somewhat gray area about being a spectator. IN a parade is definitely prohibited although I wouldn't carry if I were in one anyway so I could drink.

But it's a gray area because the "bounds" of the parade are arbitrary.

Then again, if you're on private property, like a front yard, it's up to the owner of said property.

Very gray area with parades. Depends on the judge and who you get for a lawyer.

I was told this part also covers any business owner that prohibits firearms in their place of business. Essentially if I post a sign saying firearms aren't allowed, you can't bring one in.

Of course if you conceal carry, how would I know, right?

5 or 10 years?? Y'all need to get politicians and the AG to get on the program sooner than that!

Last Session here they passed CC for women...in a purse/briefcase/etc with NO license. NO background check. NO prints. NO classes. If the ladies wanna carry on their person, then they gotta go through the regular drill.

I saw that. I'm not a huge proponent of off-body carry. It's better than nothing but it still doesn't hold a candle to on-body carry.

It's a step in the right direction for sure though. After the crime rate doesn't go up like doomsdayers predict, then Constitutional Carry will be next.

I'd like to get good politicians in LA but we have a pretty corrupt past. May take a while...
