Anyone here use them? I usually buy a few minnows for insurance and lately I've been needing them to catch trout. Is it worth buying a few traps? What do you bait them with? Where is the best place to put them? How many traps do I need need for 75ish minnows? Thanks for the help!

Lot of people don't bother with them, but they are hard to kill so they'll last. If shrimp are in the area not much will hit them.
We used to bait them with cheese or speck guts until the otters found them. Haven't done it in years.

Crack crab is best for bait. Put them in run outs ditches in the marsh. Add a small rope so you can throw them up in the run outs.

Dropping tide is best.

Just be careful. Biggest water moccasin I've ever seen got in one at our old camp on the bayou.

But we used them all the time. Usually fish guts. Just like crab traps.

Cat food for bait if you don't have guts.
