When mine were probably 9 & 10’ish - I pullled out a several rifles, shotguns and handguns, spread them out and let them handle/touch any and ask any questions. Daughter wasn’t interested but the boy (who has several of his own now) was giddy. I think this took the mystery/curiosity out of them. The boy is an avid hunter and the girl went out with me today and shot several mags from the 22 and 9mm. I’m going to use this downtime to get her more familiar with different weapons.
She may need them when I’m not around.

Just got home from work and put my Kahr CW380 and extra mag in dresser where a Kimber Micro9 (w/ extra mag), Kahr CM9 (w/ 2 extra mags) and a Taurus G2c also reside.

40 in the kitchen, 12 gauge pump next to the bed, ak47 in a hall closet, another 40 in the den. All safe and secure from the kids but easy for me to get too. Everything else is locked up.

I have a .270 and .30-06 under the guest bed with a few boxes of ammo in the garage. Got a 22-250 that weighs too much to even carry in pieces on my workbench until I can find the time to bed the action and finish out the stock. Be careful you don’t shoot your dick off getting dressed in the morning.
