I just cleaned a lot of trash trees and vines from my backyard. Any advice on how to clear the area of all the small stumps, old vines, and roots that are left on the ground?

Reciprocating saw with 12-14 inch blade. Can cut into ground.

I rented a wide tiller. If you don't mind stopping every few minutes to remove the tines and clear them out it really helps bust them up. And they're easier to pull from the ground once it has been tilled some.

Yep a saws all and a pack of blades will get a lot of it done

I would personally just leave them and spray anything that sprouts out during the summer with some brush killer...within a year or two, most everything dead will be disintegrating...

Charcoal. Sounds crazy I know but, it works. Place a small stack of charcoal over stumps and light them. As they burn down they will burn the stump as well.
