Why would a deer associate solvent with a human? Worry about body odor.

I wash with the no scent stuff and wash my clothes in it and keep them in plastic containers....

most of the time I'll dress outside and spray down with no scent stuff and squirt estrus cover up on the soles of my boots

Before season and after season. Nothing in between. Rifle still looks good. *Note it stays in a hard case in truck, and in a case on the bike. Only time it's out is pretty much in the stand. No real need to clean it more.

Why would he associate body odor with humans? Seriously. Think about it.

He doesn't associate that smell with anything except that he doesn't know what it is. When that smell scares him, he then associates it with danger. Most hunters are carrying guns, so it's not a stretch to say that deer may be more afraid of scent of gun oil then they are of body odor. Just a thought.

To answer the question, I wipe mine down if it gets wet or muddy, but rarely if ever really clean it during the season.

I do not buy cammo for hunting any more. I have a camo jacket and bibs but it has to be real cold for that. I have Carhart style pants that are greenish brown or other pants that I use. Dark colored t shirts. Shirts are all covered with orange or a coat so whats the point. I just use what I have. Cammo is so over rated.

I have. They are prey. We are boogers.

Yes, it's a stretch. You are using your brain too much. They are not humans or even primates. You give them way too much credit.

Maybe so, but I know this. Pressured deer are afraid of humans, nonpressured deer aren't. They learn.

Young deer aren't afraid of scent, usually. Old deer are.

Deer that see bonhunters on the reg, usually aren't scared of them. Makes me think they aren't born afraid of humans, but rather learn to be.

Maybe I'm over thinking it.
