Um...for having an opinion?

Dumb move on his part. Not exactly a good way to build rapport with us. It also seems out of line to me for someone in his position to be throwing blame one way or the other. It should be more about the victims and the suspect.

But you can't just go calling for people to be fired from their jobs because their political opinions don't jive with yours ha.

Why cant people in positions like this remain neutral on twitter? Just tweet about sports. If you have an opinion like this tell your wife or buddies.

Sad to see another great American city touched by useless gun violence in another mass shooting. #Chattanooga

I'm confused at the issue, he just used the same buzz words that the rest of the media market uses on both sides. He didn't say #revokethe2nd or anything like that. Sad that people died? How dare he.. Was this supposed to be a useful death?

quote:

It was inevitable that the gun-grabbing ghouls would come out of the woodwork in the wake of a mass shooting. It might have been less inevitable that it would happen in a case like Chattanooga.

That LSU just hired one of the gun-grabbing ghouls to take over for Hawthorne, so that he could build a rapport with LSU’s fan base – a group of people more pro-2nd Amendment you will not find anywhere in America – might go down as one of the most amazing own goals in recent history.
Is there any other comments he made or am I the only one who sees that this seems like this is quite possibly the biggest over reaction in an attempt to drumup site hits on a 3rd tier news website, or maybe he's a Hanagriff Fan?

This is just my opinion and you all probably don't care and that's fine.

This was not senseless gun violence. This was a terror attack. And this attack was against people that the government took away the victims ability to defend themselves. This guy knew this.
The fact that a sports guy comes out and calls it something else is quite frankly stupid and lessens his appeal as a sports personality. It hurts the brand of LSU.

I have no problem with anyone calling for his job as he chose to speak (incorrectly in my mind) using his position as the schools voice.

Had he chose to voice this opinion (yours), in this manner, he would have been him making a political statement.

quote:

Sad to see another great American city touched by useless gun violence in another mass shooting. #Chattanooga
take this and change it ever so slightly to this...

quote:

Sad to see another great American city touched by useless violence in another mass killing. #twintowers #NYC #9/11
Is that offensive?

Some people read way too much into what people say and the context in which it is written. Had he said "Prayers for Chattanooga" someone would be offended that not all those affected were Christians.

He followed it up with this:
quote:

It's amazing that we live in a world where everything said or written is perceived as "political" People were senselessly murdered today
Read into it as you see fit.

Your use of short and incomplete sentences, all followed by exclamation points, leads me to believe you are a dummy.

Apparently he's our new left wing "gun grabbing ghoul" that's replacing Hawthorne as the Voice of the Tigers, according to the writer of the article.
