Ruger American or a used savage model 110. I have a savage model 110 with a Nikon Monarch on it that's my beater gun.

You can buy a $300, .270 at Walmart with a scope that will do the job easy.

Hard to beat an SKS for that.

For fun? Anything that will take a deer will take a hog.
If you're trying to be efficient, though, Bleeding Purple can tell you that trapping is the way to go.

Went with a 308 Remington
I have shot three times and missed.
Maybe I can give them a heart attack!

you do know the rifle does not come zeroed in for accuracy from the retail store you bought it?
you have to take it to a range or make your own range and zero the rifle.
probably why you missed

I don't know anything about rifles. I will follow your advice. Thank you.

Do you have any experience at all with firearms?
Might not be a bad idea to take a class of some kind,or at least have a friend with experience help you.

You do have a hunting license right?

So in 2 hours you bought a rifle, went hunting, seen 3 hogs and missed all 3?

Well, it is the first time he's handled or fired a rifle. So, give him a little bit of a learner's curve.

Do you still have to have a license if they are by your state consider a nuisance and basically have no hunting regulations on them?

Remington 783
308
Yes this all happened today. I am not hunting them exactly. They showed up on my land.
I am decent with a shotgun and pistols, but have no experience with rifles. I don't hunt deer but I like to watch them on my place. Haven't seen them since these hogs showed up.

damn, that is a pretty active day! I'd bet you eventually enjoy the challenge of killing these things!
fwiw, you really need to find someone who knows what is going on so that they can show you how to clean them, though.
