So while trying to OT/OB ball on a budget I came across this brand. What is really the cons to using it and I guess steel cased ammo as well? For $80 more I can get brass cased PMC.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

I only shoot steel out of an AK. Stick with brass.

Made in Russia.Sounds dirty.

I did buy some Perfecta FMJ the other day, which is a little cheaper than Federal,it's made in Italy.Only fired 3 rounds of it so far,and that was right after firing quite a few rounds of Federal,w/o cleaning in between.
It shot pretty well, accuracy was right there with the Federal. I will shoot more of it first next time, with a clean rifle. That way I will know a little more about it.

Just my humble opinion, there is nothing wrong with Tula. Just clean your weapon regularly if you shoot a lot.

This is the dirtiest, smokiest ammo I've used.

Sellier & Bellot

Black Powder gets jealous of the smoke cloud and soot that these rounds discharge.

That's the brand I use in my ak and I don't have any issues.

Tula is a little under powered and dirty. I prefer brown bear or silver bear for cheap steel 223. Monarch laquered steel 223 is brown bear if you want to buy a box or two to try out before investing in a case your AR might not like.

Mini 14 and Mini 30 eat steel fine.

I've been stocking up on different pistol ammo (among other calibers) over the past couple years...

after the flooding, all ammo is still good to go (so far) other than the TulAmmo
--steel casing and is rusted beyond salvaging.

So if you are planning on another flood, avoid steel casing

If your plinking and don't care TulAmmo is ok I guess. It's dirty and under powered for anything useful. If your just out having fun bring a rag and a can of rem oil or rem duster, your gonna need it often.

Perfecta

It's what I buy for plinking, exclusively. It's really good stuff, especially for the money. It's actually cheaper than Tula, at least in 9mm.
