Cercospora Leaf Spot on Crepemyrtles

You've probably all seen it. Yellow leaves on otherwise healthy crepemyrtles that cause the tree to defoliate prematurely. They lose leaves in July and not only look bad but create a hell of a mess. Anybody know of a product to treat this, preferably a systemic drench?

My wife suggest spraying with a systemic fungicide. It helps. Spray the ground under the trees too. It's an every two week process from now till winter. She uses Ferti-lome liquid systemic fungicide 2. It's a constant battle. HTH. Good luck.

I used to raise watermelons commercially and I had a problem with fungus, too. Sent some samples via the county agent to Virginia Tech and some of the fungi was identified as cercospera leaf spot, target spot, and anthracnose. County agent ordered for me a 5 lb. bag of wettable Ridomil that was specifically formulated for cucurbits. Stuff worked, too. I don't know if it would work on crepe myrtles, but I don't see why it wouldn't. Stuff is expensive, though, but it is effective. I also used Bravo. You can buy it across the counter and it is also applicable to ornamentals as well as vegetables. Hope this helps? LINK

Be sure not to overwater. If you've got mulch around them they maintain moisture and don't need as much water.
Also, rake away and remove the fallen leaves.
When it comes to fungicides, spray them on a weekly basis. Be sure to get the underside of the leaves. Also mix up the type of fungicides.
