Marked down from $800 to $630. Thanks to a post a few months ago on this board i have a few hundred dollars in gift cards to burn.
Thoughts on this thing? Waste of money? Fun to shoot on the weekends for sport?

While I agree that looks like a good deal, you have to watch Cabelas and their sale prices. You can pick that gun elsewhere for less than $700 regular price. Cabelas likes to use the Amazon approach and jack up the regular price to make it look like you're getting a better deal than you really are.
I've never heard of grabagun.com but they have it for $569 and $7 shipping. Not sure if they're legit, but it may be worth looking into.
ETA: I don't know anything specifically about the gun. I was just commenting on the price

With shipping it's probably right at that price.
It looks to be about right to me. Was never an $800 rifle.

ETA: The fact that you have Cabelas gift cards may make this more attractive to buy, but there are better options out there

I got one of those ruger's in the fall. It was that price plus additional 20% in online promos. Code was SHOOT16 or something? Ended up paying about $530 after tax i believe.
Was too good of a deal to pass up even tho i didn't need it. Came to be about 23% off cabela's msrp.

I would get a wasr10, AMD or one of the other mil surp models around that range. Just my opinion. Buddy has a RAS and its fine i guess. He doesnt shoot it much.
