Do you prefer a center console or traditional bass boat style side console for fishing?

My FIL has a 18ft center console War Eagle (same boat as Geauxt) and so far it has been fine for bass fishing.

One day I plan on getting an aluminum rig in the 17-18ft range and im leaning more towards the center console.

I know a little storage will be lost, but I pack light anyway.

For the sake of conversation, what are everyone's views?

I've had both and I prefer side a little better as of now. Best deal is what I really look at when boat shopping (every day on LaSportsman for shites and giggles).

Sitting up high in the center of my mudboat is pretty legit too tho...

Side console if you plan to hunt ducks with it and center console if you plan to just fish it.

I've had several side console boats but I'm also leaning towards CC aluminum rig next time I buy.

You'll be surprised of how much will be lost & throw in a fishing buddy with his shite & your tripping over stuff

That's why you buy a 22ft boat. Duh!

Would go single side console, but I like how Stratos has that flip up windshield for the passenger.

Mines a dual console with a relatively narrow beam, haven't spent enough time in it yet but moving up front I've seen just how much of a difference it makes and now understand when my friends would tell me they didn't care if I was cold in the passenger seat.

In a wide boat (7'+), center console fishes better.

My cousin has a 16' aluminum with a center console and it was tight quarters. (Width was 5.5 or 6'.) A side console would be way better in a boat that width.

CC, especially if you fish by yourself. I've never really cared for SC and hope to get a 17-18' CC aluminum rig in a couple years as well.
