My Dad got an Xpress last year, it's legit as hell. Shallow draft, takes a beating and fast as all get out.

No doubt gotta get the Hyper hulll and you'll want a few more HP (50-75) than the stock motor.

I think Ranger is producing a Center console aluminum this year....not sure but I thought thats what the dude told me when I was looking at the bay boat.

My 2 cents- don't get a center console.
I've had both types and I much prefer something with a full windshield.
I concur with the aluminum.
You didn't mention cost but I would be looking for a Hanko's/Scully type boat if the budget allows.
