We caught about a dozen trout this past Saturday fishing the close rigs out of the ship channel. Anywhere between 25' and 35' deep water.

Caught most of the trout early at the first rig we stopped at.

When we pulled up to the third rig of the morning I caught this bonus triple tail on my first cast.

We didn't smoke them by any means, but it was a fun trip. Not bad for just going on a whim with no solid reports saying, "Go here and throw this..."

Were you fishing off your jetski Kenny Powers?
Congrats on the triple tail.

We smoked them on Sunday in big lake. Must've not been holding your lip right haha. But seriously the tides were awful on Saturday the high tide peaked very early and id bet you caught your fish before that happened. The tides rose for about 2 hrs. more on Sunday compared to Saturday so that might've been the difference. Id bet we caught about 150 trout but only 75 keepers, big ones early and 12-14 inches after that with a bunch of 11 inch trout mixed in.

It's all mine, home grown. I use it like bait to catch the marlins on Holly Beach.

+1 at PAC. stayed out till the falling tide turned on (and cooked our brains out doing it) and then caught some really nice trout in the heat of the day
