I live in a neighborhood, and sometimes waiting for garbage day after cleaning a mess of The White Perch can be quite smelly. I have been driving to the diversion canal and dumping the stuff in the water. I figure I'm paying forward to the turtles and small fish there.

Really is no good place to do it if you don't have land

What about an apartment building dumpster?
Posted on 9/20/16 at 9:55 am to AlxTgr
For fish, I put all the remains in a trash bag and throw in the freezer. Take them out the deep freezer the morning the trash pickup comes. Keeps them from getting smelly

My freezer is like a one way valve. I'd probably get rid of that the next time I moved.

Everybody else at the apartment will hate the guy that owns the boat

We had to get a dumpster replaced at my old office. Pretty sure everyone thought it was me. It wasn't.

Do the same rules apply for fish carcasses? Sounds like he was mostly referring to big game.

Put it in a trash bag, put trash bag in freezer. Throw out trash bag at the night before the trash runs

"Any wild game carcass". If fish are not game, then YAY!
And, nevermind

I double bag (sometimes triple bag if its a lot of fish) and tie the outermost bag in an overhand knot to seal it. My trash gets picked up on Tuesday, so usually it's only in there for 4 days at the most. Keep the lid closed and the bag in an overhand knot and the smell never gets too bad.

I must've missed that part. I mean, I'm not gonna dump my fish guts on the side of the road anyway.

4 days at the most.

If I clean fish at my house. I'm chucking that shite into the cane field. If I clean them down the bayou. They go in the bayou.

I think they're referring to big game.
No way throwing fish bodies into waterways is illegal.

If throwing fish guts in the coulee behind my house is illegal, then I swear I have never done that and never will.

What if it's like a few limits of trout and redfish? Thats a lot of space to take up in the freezer.
I throw them in the pond behind my house if it's less than 50 or so because there's an old couple in the neighborhood that look at me like "shame on you!" when they see me dumping fish heads in their beloved pond.

Not gonna lie, by "never gets too bad" I really mean "I avoid the area of the trashcan like the plague for several days"
