I'm getting the itch on getting something new. I want a lever action 270 or 308 but yeah good luck with finding that without dropping 2 grand.

I try to keep all my calibers similar for obvious reasons and getting a 350L upper I can just swap out with one of my lowers seems the most logical due to availability of ammo.

Ballistics seem pretty good for what I want to use it for. Where I hunt I would rarely have a shot over 150 yds.

Anyone using one of these rigs?

I have been telling my brothers to buy a Crack barrel 350 instead of lever action.

Not familiar with 350L. What does it offer over 300 Blackout?

It’s made to fit into some narrow definitions of primitive weapons in the Midwest that require a straight-walled cartridge. That’s about it.

I have a 350L and a 450 bushmaster. If you are shooting 200 yards and under then both calibers are awesome.

I've never shot nor owned a 350 Legend. OTOH, before the 350 Legend there wa a wildcat known as the 357 Maximum. The two are basically the same except the parent brass for the Legend is the 223 Rem (rimless) whereas the 357 Maximum uses a lengthen 357 Magnum (rimmed). Both have the same case head and have no taper to the case. The Maximum has been very popular in the T/C Contender and Encore crowd where having a rim is advantageous for extraction. OTOH, rimless brass works better for the AR platform. Using the proper bullets, the Maximum has proven to be a highly effective hunting round. Check google for the 357 Maximum.

All I know about 350 Legend is that it has a cool name and is always on the shelf at Academy. Even during the worst of the covid ammo shortage, it was on the shelf.

Heard about it thru a BIL for his kid. Shot it at the camp a few weeks ago and just recently bought it for my 9 yr old for his birthday. Sweet little youth gun with minimal kick and can be used for muzzle loader or reg season.

I know the Hornady 170gr ballistics show +4.5” at 100 and 0 at 200yd. 100 percent of our shots are less than 100yds.

I built one, AR, enjoy it. Have quiet a few friends that have bought them in different forms for their kids, all impressed. The ammo was really cheap when they first came out. Little more now but at least you can find it.

What makes yall think you can use it for primitive weapon hunting? 35 Whelan is OK because it is that old. This isn't. You might want to check the regs on that.

Smith & Wesson has released a revolver in 350 legend. Dying to try one.

I looked at it but seemed pointless in AR swap for what you get. I could understand buying a lever action.

If I were going to build AR, I would go 6.8SPCII or 277 wolverine. Wolverine is easier and cheaper.

How many feed issues did you have to deal with? I definitely had a few and each improvement I did made it slightly better until I finally got it running good but I still occasionally have a hang up.

-Several Buffer & Spring swaps. Ended up with a lighter Spring and an H3 buffer.
-Polished the Bolt and Ramp
-Half Moon notched the front of all my magazines

I think I’m going to put an adjustable Gas Block on it just to be able to tune it a little more.

I don't think anything, I know.

35 Whelen wasn't developed until 1922

Doesn’t matter when the cartridge was developed. As long as it’s a pre 1900 action. I had the S&W .500 mag pistol so when the new primitive weapons rules came out I bought the rifle. 350 grain hollow points do lots of damage.

I thought 350 Legend isn’t legal everywhere because of the shape of the round. It’s not collared. Just check that first so you know. I added a 450 Bushmaster instead of 350L as a new upper because it’s large bore. I wanted one of those to have if needed. Ammo is way cheaper on 350L. You can get target ammo for less than $0.75 a round.
