Or because they don't have much experience elsewhere.

Slated the trout at bird island last year the day before they closed grand isle
I haven't been down to the island in almost 2 years. Im planning on getting the boat and gear cleaned up soon and planning a trip. Bird Island never yielded high numbers for us but we did get some damn nice trout. It was not uncommon to catch 30-40 trout between 3-4 people, not have to measure a damn one, and all average about 3-4 pounds.

Lake Boueff. Five minutes from my house 1 minute from my camp. Bass, sac a lait, perch, lake runners, crabs, catfish, and on opening night of duck hunting season stinky arse pogey!

There is a place on Sabine River where we caught Trout, Redfish, Flounder and Bass while anchored...
For saltwater theres a place in Lake Charles we caught over 2,000 trout in 3 years.

Reggio/Delacroix. That way I can fish specks and reds, flounder, AND bass. Same goes for Venice, but I don't know my way around Venice as well.

Where was your camp located? Ours is on the southeast side of the lake in the canals.

Baffin Bay?
Definitely has monster trout but the numbers are nothing like the La coast.

Well if you say for the rest of your life then, i'm hoping i live to get old so i would say a lake like Lake Bruin where i could keep my boat in a boat house so i would not have to launch it when i got ole as dirt, but could still fish as well as fish off the bank if the boat was not possible.
