Has anyone had any luck hunting in pass a loutre during teal season? myself and 4-5 friends are going down there for opening weekend if anyone cares to join.

we do it every year. bring lots of beer lol, and bug spray. we bring a generator for fans to keep bugs down. this year idk if we are going. plus keeping an eye out for this storm brewing before I make plans.

also better know what you are doing traveling river in a duck boat. we bring my bay boat for supplies and to go fishing..good luck if you decide to go

Definitely make sure you have bug spray and a thermacell for the blind. Teal season is normally pretty good down there. Fishing is normally starting to get good also in the passes around that time if the river stays down. Nothing like a limit of teal in the morning and limits of specs/reds/bass during the afternoon. Hopefully this storm stays away and doesn't screw everything up. If the feed gets killed, then we won't have a good big duck season.

Yall must really hate the skeeters!

I camp sometimes down there but it can be really bad before it starts getting cold. Have to put multiple thermacells in the tent and barely crack zipper to clean out the mosquitos before going to bed. And thermacells don't really work at dusk when they start swarming. I use two when deer hunting in October and it doesn't seem to phase them at dusk.
