How long to cook a 40 lb pig? What temp? Thanks baws, I'm helping my neighbor out today and and he's one of those rednecks who is "never wrong" but I feel like he has no clue what he's doing here.

kinda hard to overcook if you do it slow
190 is typical for fall off the bone pulled pork bu do not try to do it quickly
40 lb pig should take most of the day

Just make sure you stay on the fire. It's easy to start drinking and not keep up the temp. About an hour per4-5 lbs. make sure you flip it

He's got a kegerator right next to the microwave, so I could see that happening.

40 lbs can cook in 5-6 hours if you got good heat on bottom and good coal bed on top of the microwave. Lower and slower u go the better tho. U on campus or chillin at the camp? IE: need to be ready by a certain time? Was it scraped or skinned? Makes a difference
