Isn't the BPS expensive?
Unless the price has jumped, I thought you could get them for ~$400. I got mine for $350 back in '02 with a rebate offer they had going.
To the poster that said it's too heavy for a 75 y/o: That's a good point. It's not light.

Mossberg 835. Good enough for our military to shoot in combat.

Had an old model 12 that was given to him by his dad when he was like 11 years old. The model 12 was retired and was in his will to be given to me. It now belongs to some tpos.
Sorry to hear that. I was given my dad's Model 12 on his death bed.

870 WINGMASTER... best shotgun ever made.
No, that would be a pre-1965 Winchester Model 12, no contest.

The gun was fast, which made it one of the most popular on the market. The lack of a trigger disconnector allowed the gun to be slam fired. This means that the user can hold the trigger down while pumping the shotgun and once the pump is returned to the forward position the gun fires.—which proved pretty fast indeed. Herb Parsons, a well-known exhibition shooter, would often break seven clays thrown into the air with one of these shotguns, firing one round per clay. Herb was so fast a shot that he was even called to serve his country in World War 2 as a gunnery instructor, teaching young men the basics of shooting down aircraft with Winchester 12s among other guns.

American soldiers who were skilled at trap shooting were armed with these guns and stationed where they could fire at enemy hand grenades in midair. This would deflect the grenades from falling into the American trenches and therefore protect American soldiers.

I bought a BPS a few years ago, and had the same problem with ejecting shells. Cleaned the shite out of the chamber hoping to fix. Gave up and finally got rid of it. Kicked much harder than my Wingmaster too.
