But or sell me on making a splurgey Christmas time gun purchase of a gun I've been infatuated with for some time that I can't find justification for owning...
The Smith & Wesson 329 PD in .44Magnum

You'll always have the hardest kicking gun at the range.

Buy it.

Nothing more fun than owning a gun that you will hate to shoot. I'd save money and get it's SS brother. I've read that the kick is so violent that the rounds in the chamber will have a tendency to back the bullets out of their crimp.

Is this a scandium-framed gun? I guess I didn't notice that when I was first giving my advice. I thought it was stainless steel.

If you shoot nuclear stuff out of it you will definitely have bullets jumping crimp. It's going to be like detonating dynamite in your hand.

Get the 45 ago version so you can at least shoot it without breaking your wrists.

There's a part of me that wants to do this just to open carry it here in Texas on January 1st on our first day of OC. :haha:

I know I shouldn't do it, but it's just so badass

no way in hell would I want a light .44mag.

It's unpleasant enough to shoot in a heavy 8 inch barrel

Picked up one of those at the gun store and it's crazy light. Pretty sure lighter than a Glock which is why it'll be sure to give you a sore wrist. I guess the only reason would be a higher caliber back up gun that wouldn't weigh you down out in the woods.

Not to hijack your thread, but you may be interested in this .44 mag. Ive been looking at the 629 V-Comp. Anyone have any experience with this gun?

Buy it. You can shoot 44 specials through for practice and carry magnum loads. I have a 3" 629 that I carry in my truck as a backup gun in case I need to shoot through an engine block

It would be spectacularly painful with full power mags. Those little bastards are expensive too. You could shoot .44 special out of it which would be much more reasonable.

That is the easiest way to carry a .44 magnum, but you would need some serious hands and forearms with very good form to throw mags out of that thing with any kind of follow up capability.

All that said, I would shoot it. I wouldn't buy one, but I'd definitely shoot it if somebody showed up with one and told me to try it.

Hell I'd shoot an RPG if someone put it in my hands
