Wowzers.
At least it was sharks and not The Red Snapper.

Not really familiar with the term "zipper heads"? Is that in reference to a shark poacher, in general? Or, is it in reference to the fact the two sorry assed poachers are asian?

If what upset you about this story was the fact that two asians were involved, you seriously missed the importance of the arrest. But then again, I haven't lived in Louisiana in a few years, so I suppose since I've been gone, ALL non-asian poachers have relented -- thereby making the only illegal fishermen in existence to be of asian pursuasion?

It's federal violations, I highly doubt they get a "slap on the wrist." At the bare minimum they have $25k in fines.

They don's screw around. I know several folks who have been busted, all did time plus some hefty fines.

What is the deal with the Asians in Venice and illegally taking sharks? I have a buddy that has a house boat down there and said they've pulled up to it a few times and had them on the deck cleaning out sharks.

I've also heard other people reference how the Asians down there fish illegally.

If what upset you about this story

I can attest that a bunch of poachers in South Louisiana are indeed Asians.
Buras and Empire are full of them. They keep everything they catch.
I busted 15 of them using a fricking gill net under the Grand Isle bridge at night one time. You could not see them at all and I called LDWF and they came in trucks and a boat and arrested all of them.
Nobody on the bridge was catching anything that night and that was the reason why.

I don't debate that at all -- I have seen this myself. However, I can attest that a bunch of poachers in North Louisiana are indeed Church Going, Beer Drinking shoot anything that moves white folk. I can also attest that there are a ton of Beer Drinking, Church Going, keep anything that bites a hook white folk on Belle River.

Poachers are scum, no matter what their ethnicity, skin color, or religion.
