Bug Out Bags...Anyone have one?

I'm noticing a larger market of stuff like this. I am not a Disaster prepper or anything, but I don't think it would be a bad idea to have something like this for hurricane, tornado, ebola or other types of emergencies. Anyone have something like this? Pretty genius IMO to take advantage of the over reactive people in this world... I want one.

I see it now, but I was really referring to the emergence of the Emergency preparedness market. It's not just aimed at off the rocker nuclear fall-out wackos. They are going after average Americans that have the occasional sheep mentality when it come to (enter emergency here) breakout panic. so they don't have to do all the prepping, and just buy the bag. I think these bags are great business ideas.

Wife just read a book targeting females re: an H1N1 outbreak. She finished it and said that she fully supports me having a BOB and stockpiling ammo now

The market does make sense. I'm not talking about the hardcore, "move off the grid, permanently" people, but think of all the high-profile public disasters, massive F4 and F5 tornadoes, Katrina, Rita, Sandy - wherever you live in the U.S., you can have some sort of crisis or emergency that causes you to evaluate whether or not staying in your home (mudslides, wildfires, loss of infrastructure, etc.) and, if you need to leave in a hurry, this sort of planning the basics - food, water, medical supplies, temporary shelter, basic set of tools, duct tape, weapons, ammo, alternative power supplies, fuel, etc., is not wasted effort. It can possibly save your life - or at least get you a jump on a crisis response.
Everyone would be well served by contemplating, and doing some minimal planning for an unexpected crisis.

Holy crap, 4 person bug out bag is $900 without add-ons /food/etc. Most of their electronics require batteries or USB charging. It looks like more of a pre-made hiking kit than a bug out bag.
I made a bug out bag for a vehicle that we have used during hurricane evacs. It is more centered on vehicles than hiking... full tool kit, common repair items, duct tape/zipties/super glue, air compressor, fuel can, fix a flat & plug kit, spare jack/4way, etc. I also have water filter, non-perishable food, MRE kits, couple gallons of water I rotate out, etc. I have never had to "use" the BOB in an emergency, but it sure is nice to use it when I have a break down/flat or in our case, when trying to evac for hurricane. The BOB has saved a lot of time not having to stop at gas stations with supplies... it basically extends our trip to where we don't have to stop for 700-800 miles (which gets us to our parents house), and we don't have to wait in line at gas stations for fuel/food/supplies/etc.

Yeah, I agree, they are pricey. However, people will buy them. no matter what. I'm sure a lot of people do buy them for camping bags too.

I have a backpack that I keep packed with some emergency supplies, just in case I have to grab and go...
I did see some pre-made bug out bags for sale at wal-mart and found them kind of interesting...they had some packets of emergency food and water in them, which I liked...

You are about 4 years late. Bug out bags had a big market then. It's quited down a lot the last few years.
