I have no problem throwing braid long distances. I use 65# power pro on my frog rod and it casts a lot further than I need it to.

Does the same rod and reel cast mono and fluoro better? Did you mention that and I just missed it?

Yes same reels Garcia Revo STX AND A Curado 300E, it seems the braid is just very sticky, like I said a really good cast for me always has a little controlled overrun.

I wish I had some answers for you. Some of my reels cast certain line better than others. I use a Lew's BB1 on my frog rod and it'll sling that frog a mile on braid. But I have a Quantum Energy PT that can't cast braid or fluoro for shite. Mono is the only thing it likes.

I would think the two reels you mentioned shouldn't have a problem. I've used both but never with braid.

Guess I'll just have to go and try some different options, an excuse to buy some new gear

Power pro superslick or suffix 832 braid. Both are smoother 8 stranded braids. 832 comes out the box more supple but supeslick will soften with use. The spiderwire will soften with use as well fwiw

I tried invisabrade and it has like a wax on it when u first spool it. After about 100 cast it start to wear off. It's fine after that but I still didnt like it went back to power pro 50

Fluorocarbon is the shortest casting of all lines.

Serious question. Why do you need to cast a football fields length anyway? Even with a search bait I don't want that much line out.

If you are cranking structure at 20+ feet deep you need plenty of cast beyond your target to get there even with a steep diving crankbait. You can keep the bait in the target zone much longer, cranking perpendicular to creek beds, ledges etc. and you need fluorocarbon too.

Toledo Bend is the only place I use deep divers around here. I don't know exactly how far I cast but I do make long casts when cranking. But we use the heck out of our electronics to try to narrow our target area. Heck I may be making 70 yard casts for all I know. I'm not good at judging distance. I just know that I throw far enough.

ETA: I use 12# Seaguar red label on my cranking rod.

It's a terrible product in every way, especially casting. Fun troll though.

Really? That's not much of a feat honestly for a larger crankbait or 3/4oz. Ratltrap

This is a bullshite thread. I mean, Spider wire isn't high dollar. All braid cats farther than all non-braid. Lipless through pads? casting 70 yards? I don't think this guy has ever fished.

Go make a video on a football field and prove it, I can chunk a Zara Spook a real long distance but don't think it's anywhere approaching 70-80 yds that you are saying is easy.... Maybe 50-60 at best.
