Like I said, I already spend in upwards of $1000 a year on conservation which is a lot for the chump change I make (no OT baller here). This is not including the hours I put in on the committees.

I wish I spent that much! I don't mind the money. It's the time that got me this year.

I'm also friends with him. I worked for him. Great guy.

Doesn't mean I deserve $3000 because I couldn't fish.

I'm making a claim. Filling out the form honestly. If they pay me, then frick em. I wasn't able to fish for several months. While fishing is not how I make a living, it's a way of life. It was disrupted.

Comon man, how could you possibly rationalize being entitled to a check? I fail to see your justification for abusing the system. Sure, the $3k is a drop in the bucket and will go noticed many hundreds of times, but is that really the point?

quote:

The rest of you guys can get off your high horse. BP deserves everything they get and what they've agreed to.

High horse? Don't be a silly bitch. Don't try and make this into something it is not. This is about you trying to justify your reasoning for feeling like you were wronged in some way.

Oh, ok. So you're going to give the check to you friend? I doubt it. You worded that so it sounds like the brother was someone close to you. If the guy was your friend, why not refer to him as a friend?

Yes

I don't agree. We also don't get near enough hate from the general public. If Joe public really knew the ins and outs there would be rioting.

Lawyers are a sorry lot.

Again, to each his own. People in general are a sorry lot, but I know some damn good people that are lawyers.

en·ti·tled

believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.

I don't believe I'm entitled. How much more clear can I be?

quote:

High horse? Don't be a silly bitch. Don't try and make this into something it is not. This is about you trying to justify your reasoning for feeling like you were wronged in some way.

I'm not justifying anything you frick. BP has set up criteria for which they are paying. If I fit that criteria, then I'll take a check. I'm calling out posters who think they are holier than thou:

quote:

Anybody who takes money from BP who wasn't affected is a piece of shite.

Taking a check for $3k just because I have a fishing license is very shitty.

quote:

However, it is a great opportunity for us to shun those who are worthless shitbags who would take $3000 for nothing.

quote:

Oh, ok. So you're going to give the check to you friend?

did I say that you frick?

quote:

You worded that so it sounds like the brother was someone close to you.

do you even read? the brother is not my friend. I think everyone but you understood what I wrote.

I'm going to take the $3k and buy bricks of .22lr. Then put .22 life sticker on truck.

No. Don't try and spin it, you used your friends brother as part of your argument.

quote:

No one is saying they are entitled to it. Hell, I'm not but if those dumbfricks that screwed up by killing the brother of my friend and fricking up the coast want to pay me, then I'll take it

It's right there. Why even bring it up if you weren't close to the guy? Why use his death as part of your petty little argument for feeling like you deserve money?

It's disgusting. I bet your friend would smack you in the mouth if he knew you even brought that shite up in your justification for a $3k check.

Sure they established a criteria. Just because you meet it doesn't mean you should take it. Taking monetary compensation because you were slightly inconvenienced is fricked up. You could have still went fishing in the billion acres of water Louisiana has that weren't affected. I couldn't fish out of bayou corne for a while because of the sinkhole. Should I send a bill to Texas brine?
