Finally broke down and bought a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9. $389 plus tax at Academy in Lafayette. Needs some recs on some holsters to try out.

Very happy with my Aliengear IWB. Very affordable, lifetime shell trade-out, etc.. I tried the N82, but just couldn't get used to the twist required to break retention. I really didn't give it a fair shot, due to how much I liked my Aliengear and it's simple snap-in retention.

The kydex part is fricking huge. If you are smaller, you can rule this holster out.

I'm 5'6", 150#, and wear it at about 5 o'clock with no issues. Haven't tried the Crossbreed yet, though.

I tried the Crossbreed Holsters, but I felt like I was cramming a sheet of cardboard down my pants. I didn't want to buy all new pants with a 1" larger waist, so I needed another option.

I'm starting to wear OWB (outside waistband) holsters more often. I find them much more comfortable, and just as easy to conceal.

Outbags Holsters - I found this brand on Amazon. For $25-30 depending on model, it's a steal.

Depends on how you want to carry. Here are some of my favorites:

IWB appendix:
Off the grid concepts ADR IWB appendix holster.
- after trying a lot of different brands I find this holster to be the best combination of minimalistic while still having structure . I use this holster every day for my Glock 19. This holster is tuckable.

OWB:
Black point tactical leather wing.
- this is an awesome outside the waistband holster that hugs very close to the body. It's a Kydex holster with an adjustable retention system that can also double as an inside the waistband holster for 4 o'clock/5 o'clock carry simply by changing out the belt loops for C clips. When you convert it to an inside the waistband holster it is tuckable.

IWB 4 o'clock to 5 o'clock Carry:
comp Tac Minotaur
- this holster uses a very nice leather that is finished very well. The Kydex shell is interchangeable for other shells depending on what you want to carry. It does have an adjustable retention system with C clips that are adjustable for a ride height. The holster it is also tuckable.

If you're in Lafayette shooters should sell the Blackpoint holsters.

For anyone on the North Shore or Baton Rouge area close to Hammond, we do carry all of these holsters plus a good selection of EDC belts and magazine holders.

I just bought one for my P226 the other day. It's a fricking amazing OWB holster for like $25.

I am active, so it works well for me, but I can see how people don't like twisting it. It is an easy motion for me to do at 5 o'clock

Sticking it to the man. You can't make guns so you make holsters.

Big fan of the Aliengear, but recently switched to the N82 tactical and it is a big difference. It holds the weight better than the Aliengear and I feel the retention is much better. Geaux Shoot of Acadiana has a few in stock in the Lafayette area.
