Boat refurbish recommendation

Looking to completely refurbish a 34’ CC boat with new wiring, all electronics, 2 new 300’s, some fiberglass repair, bolsters, etc.
Can anyone recommend a place that might do this type project? TIA for any help.

Boat stays in Cocodrie but can be trailered any reasonable distance.

All in, you are talking about a 100,000 job. Take a serious look at the gas tanks while you are at it. Had a 20 year old pro line and the 140 gallon tank was crap. Water intrusion into the tank was an endless problem.

Prepare your wallet if you’re paying someone else to do the work 
I rebuilt our 33T contender last year (there is a build thread on here somewhere for it), and it wasn’t cheap. And I did all the work myself minus fiberglass and paint.
Like others said, check fuel tanks while your at it if it’s an older boat. If you’re going all in, you’ll regret not replacing them (or at a minimum inspecting them) while the boats stripped down.
As far as places to do the work, David Wade in Br and Outcast in Des Allemands are 2 of the best in the area for wiring. If going mercury I’d use David Wade. If Yamaha or Suzuki then go Outcast. Not gonna be cheap, but it’ll be done right.
Glassmasters is awesome for fiberglass work.
I’d offer to do rewiring, but I just do it on the side and I’ve already taken on more side jobs than I wanted to this year.

I followed your thread and it was great so thank you for that! Was hoping you would respond. The boat is a 34’ Venture w/ twin HPDI 250’s which are running. The cost of a new one is crazy high so it’s kind of a bargain to redo this one.

Probably still cheaper than buying a new hull given the price of boats today. Its a fun project to do yourself if you enjoy that sort of thing but it takes a lot of work and it will nickle and dime you to death.....always something else you want on it and none of it is cheap.

Not gonna be cheap, but still better than new and you can customize a few things the way you want them. New engines are the bulk of the costs.
But yes I'd look at a new fuel tank as well while you're at it.

Can’t attest to their work but the fiberglass shop Hydroflat at the foot of the Des allemands bridge always seems to have some large center consoles out front.

Oh I agree. Nothing wrong with rebuilding an older boat vs buying new. Can redo it EXACTLY how you want it, and should come out spending less. Not to mention a lot of older boat hulls are built very well/heavy in a good way.
We had a brand new boat we were supposed to take delivery of last December, and ended up just selling that and keeping the one we rebuilt. I’d love to keep this one forever, or atleast until we’re ready to move to something bigger or have Freeman money
34 venture is a great boat. If you have any questions going through the rebuild feel free to ask. Just finished rewiring a 36 yellowfin and now I’m working on a 31 Cape Horn.
If you aren’t in a huge rush, I could possibly take on the wiring, but it would be 4th quarter this year before I could do anything with it. I’d probably be cheaper than most shops since I just do it on the side, but I am a licensed Electrical Engineer (for regular job) and have plenty of pictures/references of work I’ve done.

Thank you very much for the offer and that may be a good option. Considering using it this spring and securing engines and whatever else and then pulling it out and having all of the work done.

Furlans has over a +6 month wait for fiberglass work, might even be longer. I've used Glassmasters with good results. I would stay away from Tri-Parish and Hydroflat didnt return my calls. Jefferson Fiberglass on the Westbank did excellent work for me not too long ago.
With the inflated new and used boat prices, a lot of folks are fixing with they have.

We repowered this Venture 34 from Cocodrie last year with a pair of Mercury Racing 300Rs and updated the electronics with Simrad. It was previously powered by a pair of Mercury Racing 300XS Optimax, so this was a complete re-rig from engine controls/rigging to steering. We also modified the console to fit the dual 12” Simrad’s.
