It isn't really a black panther but it is a cougar.

I've seen 2 tan ones and a black one.... I was impressed at the size of them.... long and all muscle.... no mistaking one for a bobcat or a house cat. The first one I saw, I watched it through my scope for 30 seconds or so.... the second it saw me it was outta there like greased lightening.

We see one of these killed in MO once every few months it seems like...last one that I remember hearing about was this one: LINK


Got a buddy that is a conservation agent in MO and says they've never found a female, so there's no proof of a breeding population this far south (or east). Males get kicked out and cover lots and lots of territory. They are very good at staying under the radar.
