Big Lake/Hackberry area reports???

will be in the Lake Charles and Sulphur areas on business for a few days next week (july 1/5). Was thinking of making a trip to Big Lake. Any reports? I know this may not be the best time of year, but would a trip be a waste of time, from a fish catching perspective, at least?
