I've always wandered if I hit deer like that with my truck would I mount it. What say the OB?

I hate seeing deer go out like that, especially that one.

There can be more than one reason to mount a trophy deer beyond just the memorialization(is that a word?) of the kill/accomplishment. A trophy like that is a thing of beauty to be displayed no matter how he met his end.

Well in most states you would not be allowed to possess the deer because it was taken illegally. So you would need to throw it in the back of the truck and drive off facing a hefty penalty if caught.

Of course you would also need to be driving something other than a ford because apparently it has to be towed off after hitting bambi.

not sure of laws in LA/bama but in TX that would be considered hunting on a public road, and hunting from a moving vehicle both illegal means. and illegal to possess.

I pass that area every time when I go hunting in Hale County, AL.
I will be a lot more alert for deer

Guy by our camp in North LA said he hit a decent buck with his truck and cops wouldn't let him keep it, fwiw.

I'm half-arse certain that if you hit one in LA you're not supposed to pick it up. But, I hit one once, $6K damage to my new Z, you damn right I'm picking it up. Damn deer was destroyed on the inside, too. A no-horn buck to boot, somb was as slick-headed as a doe.
