Couple times fishing I've noticed softball or bigger sized balls of something on submerged limbs. Any idea what they are?

Do they look like balls of eggs? I think I was told that was garfish eggs when I was younger. I we're thinking of the same thing.

These things are in the shape of a perfect ball under water around submerged branches.
