have many.. but the two that sticks out now...
right after I found out chessie had DM...
we were at duck camp for about 3 days - I had not had a chance to hunt with son whole weekend - he hunted with the "the boys"... bunch of older teenage kids...
they pretty much duck and goose hunted the entire time we were there... dads just sat back...
sunday pm... we are gonna make one more combo/duck goose hunt....
not much flying - we are on a dry field levee.. combo duck and goose blind.. band of about 45-50 geese is crossing at an angle about 500 yards downwind.. we both start calling...
for about 10 minutes they look and flirt with us.. then one breaks off and starts twisting down...banking in and out.. calling back... then comess right over us...and starts to bug out we jump up BOOM BOOM.... drops about 75 yards in front of us.... the whole time it was twisting down our venerable old chessie was whining like a puppy watching the bird come.... mind you she already picked up 30-40 geese that weekend....
son sends her.... perfect retrieve.... she carried the goose all the way back to the rig....
little did we know that was the last one....
On a guided hunt last year...in between torrential down pours... son - myself and guide... we hadn't really talked much before or on way in.... rain was that hard...
we are in blind right at legal... break in the rain birds working all around us... teal everywhere .. guide is telling us where ... lil choupique.. says... pintails 2 oclock LOW.. guide and I can't see em... older eyes can't pick em up in the dark shadows.....
then there they are.. BOOM bing bang BOOM... sprigs a falling.... the fall behind us... guide goes to fetch..... em tells us.. shoot if they out front...
he is gone for 5 minutes... we call in and wax another 5-6 birds... and have birds working when he gets back... he looks at lil choupique and sees HE is the one calling... and goes .."WOW"... how old are you?
he then said I wish all my sports were like this.....

easily killing my first duck
I was in 6th grade and was hunting with my dad and uncle in December. It was so cold that the pond was frozen over. Well this little green wing teal hen goes to land and slides across the ice and stands up. While it was standing I had to stand up on a bench in our blind and got to shoot it.
We were gone about 10 minutes later because we were so cold but easily one of my favorite hunting memories

I was hog hunting about 4 years ago and had to crawl on my belly roughly 50 yards to get a clear shot with my .300 mag. It worked to perfection and the 250 LB boar is on my wall

Fishing is a trip I took my dad and grandfather on about 6 months before we lost my grandfather. My grandfather fished 3 days a week until he was almost 90 and ingrained my love to fish. I miss him to this day, but a picture of the three of us on that trip hangs on my office wall.
Hunting would be a trip about 30 years ago, my dad, myself and not really sure who else, but we hit the duck and goose valhalla. We were in Creole, LA and killed 50 pintail, all drakes, and limits of specks and snows too. The BEST hunt I have ever had legally, but legally or not one of the most memorable. If I can get my scanner working I'll post pictures later.
