TNT Performance on Airline?

I've never done business there, but dyno'd the truck a few years back at an event held at their shop...

they seemed like a knowledgeable place when I was there...they put on a pretty good event.

My only real experience with them was for that event.

Haven't been there since, so I can't really recommend them or say anything bad about them...

Yea on powerstroke site they arent fond of TNT. I called them and talked with them, but they don't do custom tunes which was what I wanted when I called them. They seemed like good people. I might try them again

Coy's Diesel in Gonzales

I know Coy, very smart guy. Went to school in Houston to learn Diesel's and only Diesel's.

He used to work on all the Diesel's that came in the shop at Robinson Brothers Ford before he opened his own shop.

I don't know about his prices, but I know he knows what he is doing when it comes to Diesel engines.

Yea they said nobody in baton rouge does a true custom tune like I want. I already have a programmer but I want a custom tune for how I drive.

Friday I will go to coys and TNT and see who impresses me more I guess.

Figured I'd update this thread after the new goings-on with my truck. Tried to post this review to YP and Yahoo reviews, but couldn't get it to work. BBB is supposedly doing something with it now:

Coy's is absolutely the worst place I have ever done business with. I went in for a job that he told me was going to cost $5400. The job was head studs and gaskets for my F-250, along with an EGR delete. Two days later, the price magically jumped to $10,000. That was with them waiving some $2000 labor fee. That, plus tax brought my new total to ~$13,400. Big jump for two days if you ask me.

He originally told me that so and so minor things were wrong with my motor, but he did the work all of the time, so it wouldn't be such a big deal. After the two days went by, he wanted to hone out my cylinders, replace the pistons, rings, and connecting rods, machine the cylinder heads, head gasket, studs, EGR delete, and replace both turbos. Basically rebuild my whole motor. Odd because I drove it there a few days earlier from downtown Baton Rouge with no catastrophic problems at all.

Funny thing is, I brought it to TNT right down the road 3hrs before I brought it to Coy. TNT only found that I had one cylinder losing compression(from blown head gasket), and a bad injector. Coy said nothing about the injector being bad, which I knew was bad because it threw a code earlier that day. He said my motor was missing because my turbos were both bad. This was crazy because an injector is $350 to replace and turbos are $2000. He showed me they were dirty and tried to say it was because they were bad, but they just had carbon buildup in them because the motor is designed to dump exhaust gasses back into the intake.

So I decided I wanted to take it back to TNT. He specifically told me it would not run when they put it back together so I needed to get the stuff done ASAP.

I spoke on the phone to his dad, and he told me that the cost for the tear-down/put back together was going to be $2000. I was okay with that as long as I could get my truck the hell out of there. Spoke to them on a Friday and said I would be a little after 5 getting there to pick up the truck, and asked if they could stay a little later. His dad asked him while I was on the phone, and I heard him say he would stay so I could get it. I showed up at 5:08pm, and nobody was at the shop except for a tow truck driver. The driver told me that Coy left about 15 minutes before and wouldn't be back until Monday.

So I show up Monday morning to get my truck, and now the price for the tear-down/reassembly was $3500. Fan-fricking-tastic for me. We get into an argument about the this and that for a while, and he said my price was actually $3000 for what they did. My total was $3498 after taxes. Awesome man, charge me 16% tax. The master wheeler and dealer is at it again because the tax rate in Ascension/Gonzales is only 8.5% ($3255).

After all of that BS, I tell him to pull it out into the lot so the wrecker can bring it to TNT. Wait, wait, wait a minute...I look outside and see some little dick licker driving my truck around the lot. I thought Coy specifically told me that it wouldn't run at all...wouldn't even start? Was he lying to get me in a bind and extort money out of me?

To sum it all up, run very far from there. In fact, run a few miles down the road to TNT. Don't ever, ever, ever bring your truck to him. He is a price-gouging, bait and switching, upselling, lying extortionist. If you argue about his prices, his answer is simply, well, we can just hold on to your truck until we work it out in court . Oh yeah, his prices...$1000/day just for labor. The lot over there has 36 Fords, 3 Chevy/GMC trucks, and 4 Dodges. What the hell they are all doing there I have no freaking idea. Who knows? Just don't let that be one of yours.

If you don't listen to these warnings, bring a big checkbook. You are the stupid one for doing so. Oh yeah, nevermind, don t bring a checkbook because they don't take checks. AMEX black would be even better. Imagine walking around with 132 $100 bills in your pocket that this POS is about to take from you.

Wrote it a couple of days after bringing it there. Actually let myself cool off before I did, and wanted to post it as a review of the place. Couldn't figure out the damn squiggly passwords on Yahoo/YP so this is the next best place
