Why?

I believe I've answered pretty much every question in this thread with enough long winded detail that I've developed carpal tunnel syndrome and will now have to join you crossbow hunters if I wish to continue hunting primitive weapons season. Hope your all happy.

No one said it doesn't provide a slight advantage. I stated that the guys making it seem like you are shooting a rifle are overstating the advantages. Do a simple search of crossbow vs compound and read for yourself. The knock down power is about the same due to draw length. Kill rates are similar. Its not like using a crossbow allows you to shoot deer at 75 yards. You still have to get the deer close and make a good shot. If I ever do primitive hunt, it will be with a crossbow. Like you said, I won't need to do the work. With two kids, a demanding career and all the other crap life throws my way I wouldn't have time to spend hundreds of hours mastering a compound. A crossbow would be perfect and I wouldn't feel like any less of a hunter when I killed a deer with it.
