Thanks for the responses. I'll try the yellow to start and if it doesn't do good then I dye it green or something.

I switched to fluorocarbon on my "soft plastics set up." tried the FC sniper stuff that everyone says is the creme, but that line was terrible - it was stiff and had a lot of memory.

Took that off and put Seaguar InvizX like I have on my other non-braid lines. InvizX has by far the least memory of any non-braid line I've tried.

Just carry a sharpie with you and sharpie the last 3-4 feet. That works wonders. Split the tip of the sharpie with a knife.

That was my experience with all Fluoro.

May give it a go on one rig to see. I have been just using a fluoro leader since the stuff casts so poorly.

Flouro gets a bad rap on here. It's definitely not for making 100 yard casts with the drag hot. Still, the stiffness and memory are the necessary evils to get the extra sensitivity. It's so expensive that I wanted to believe it's just placebo, but I actually felt the difference this weekend. I fished sunday on a farm pond with a lot of laydowns and stickups on the bottom. Monday I was fooling with my reel brakes and ended up backlashing the flouro so bad I had to cut it, and respool with mono in a pinch. Fished the same pond with the same structure monday evening and the feel was unmistakable. Where before I could feel the weight make contact with a stick and lightly pop over it (in fact this is usually exactly what led to a bite), with the mono it constantly felt like I was just pulling the weight through slop.

Flouro really shines when you're pitching plastics 10-15 yards and really need to work cover hard. Anything else and it's probably just gonna piss you off. I'll be respooling that reel with it as soon as I can.

Would highly recommend.

I don't agree. In fact, I think it should be trashed more.

extra sensitivity

I never noticed that. Braid? Yes.

I'd like to see if fluoro got more bits than braid. I suspect, no.

It's all situational. If there's enough grass for the braid to blend in or the water is stained it's probably a wash. I find myself more often than not fishing wood in clear water, and flouro gives me the sensitivity of braid with the clarity of mono. Big braid with a leader could do the same, but I rarely throw anything heavier than 3/8ths on plastics, and small braid is a royal pita.

Nanofil and Ardent Gliss are great for light situations. I tie to a swivel, then about 15" of 6lb fluoro. Just in case

The swivel really helps with line twist from how much my jigs spin during a cast.

I looked at a pack of nanofil the other day and it said it wasn't recommended for baitcasters, have you tried it?

I fish saltwater with PP #20 in white. I do just as well on the specs and reds as everyone else in the boat.

Also, I can tie my knots alot faster because I can see the line. I'm not old by any means but fishing in the early morning and dusk, makes knot tying hard with green.

I have it on 3 very small spinning reels. For baitcasters, I'd go with Ardent Gliss.
