I know side view is awesome but I don't want to shell out $600-1000 for one. My question is are there any cheaper depth finders out there that can help you find fish without paying an arm and a leg.

I'm going to be exploring some new lakes soon and I'd love to keep the budget under or around $300

I got a color screen hummingbird on my river boat that does pretty good. I've found plenty of fish with it

I've been looking at the Raymarine Dragonfly for my kayak. Some of those models can be had for that price. It just depends on the size and features you want.

ETA: Smaller model, but GPS & Sonar

I have been looking at the Raymarine Dragonfly 7 pro for the front of my boat. 450.00 with Navionics seems like a no brainer. Anyone here ever messed with Raymarine ?

I just bought a refurb hook 7 off of eBay for 300. Seems pretty good so far.

I just bought Dragonfly pro 4 with Navionics gold and a transducer for $240. Hopefully it gets here before this weekend so I can use it.

To me the screen size on the Dragonfly pro is almost irrelevant because you can WiFi an iPad to it.

I really like the dragonfly 4 pro that I have. The transducer likes to be moving I will warn you, which on a boat shouldn't be as big of a problem as it is on my kayak. Otheriwse, screen clarity, and read outs from the transducer are great. No complaints.

Anyone had any experience with a Lowrance Hook 4? I've been looking at one of those.

I got the hook7 for $330 at cabelas a few months ago. I think it was a refurb. Even came with a rebate for a map card. It was on heir website. It has been pretty good so far

The screen image on the Dragonfly looks as clear and as sharp as anything on the market from the pictures I saw earlier.

I really wanted to get the cp200 side vision but it was over my budget. But anyone just wanting a super sharp SI finder its pretty well priced at only around $600. The screen seems to be pretty big too.
